Aloha! As I mentioned last week I've signed up for a craft sale well beyond scarf and hat season which...may not have been the best plan, but here we are! In addition to deep discounts on winter wear I figured I better go crazy on some drink cuffs, it is also a craft beer party after all! I've been having a lot of trouble with the drink cuffs. Its been trying to get a pattern that turns out the same every time for me. Additionally my go-to patter was a chevron style and I just wasn't feeling chevrons anymore. You may have seen in previous posts that I've been trying to make a kitty cat drink cuff happen. I've been having trouble with that one too, it just didn't seem "kitty" enough! So I made the ears bigger and I'm a lot happier with it now! I just need to get some eyes to put on, maybe some noses too!
Not everyone likes to announce their love of cats (I can't for the life of me figure out why!) so I thought I still needed something else. Nothing just one color, nothing bland, but I was at a loss! Finally this weekend I remembered that I have this book called Crochet Stitches Visual Encyclopedia by Robin Chachula. I pulled that out and got some great ideas! This was also a great way to use up (or attempt to use up) some stash yarn. And they are so quick!
I like these stitch patterns so much! I think they look delightfully 70s! I may try to translate them into ear warmers for next season!
If you know my work style you know I'm not always one to come up with my own patterns and when I do they are fairly simple. I was really excited to tweak these simple color changes into some cute things!
Next week I'll show you cat coozies with eyes!
