It seems that winter is a time that most crafters like to curl up on the couch with a lap full of yarn and a chick flick and really get some work done. I, apparently, am not most crafters. The winter makes me cranky and achy, I don't like to take my hands out from under the blankets at all if possible! Nevertheless, I must persevere!
I've had a handful of commissions this month and some baby blankets (yay!) so I've been trucking through those things, but I couldn't resist pulling together a couple of new creations! After last month's houndstooth infinity scarf I found that, although the houndstooth pattern isn't as pronounced as I might like, I still liked the look. I gave it a try as an ear warmer!

I think it turned out pretty darn cute! I really wanted to do a matching fingerless glove, but I found it difficult to pull off. In the regular pattern you carry through the color of yarn that you are not using, until you are using, and I found that strand running through the stitch removed the stretch that you really need in a glove. I tried clipping the yarn but with so many ends to weave in, the extra work was a bummer. On top of that the ends had a tendency to pop back out which just drove me bananas! So I compromised at this:
I miss the stripes a bit, but I still really like the look! It was hard for me to post these up for sale because I wanted to keep them for myself! I envision doing a matching set with an infinity scarf, headband, and fingerless gloves!
These are over in the Etsy store currently, I'm trying to make myself wait for the response before making a million more...its hard!
