I will call this week: The Button Saga...and if you're judging level of interest by title...you may be right! Last week I ordered what would be all the buttons I will need for my fall ear warmer headbands. When they arrived only about 2 days later I was super excited and about to sing the praises of the supplier all over social media...until I opened them. All of the buttons for the Richies color line were wrong. I worked it all out to with the company and they sent the new buttons, which arrived yesterday...and were still wrong! Now I'm sending back twice as many and have my fingers crossed that the 3rd time is a charm in getting what I actually ordered. I won't call out the company, as I think its just a glitch in their fulfillment and they've been wonderful in all of my other purchases with them, but it is frustrating.
Its not all bad though, I have gotten some things done this week. For instance, I have started experimenting with some new signs for the craft booth!
As you can see there is still some user error in my photography (practice practice practice!). I don't think is is the final artwork I'll use for these, but I like where its going! These cute little retro looking frames are from Ikea and are only $1 each! You can't beat that!
Additionally I took a little time to start (and not yet finish) this fun scrap rug! You make it by using 5 strands of scraps at once and just connecting new pieces as they run out. This technique makes for some really cool color variations and I've already blown through quite a bit of my small scrap stash on it. I think it will look nice in my kitchen. It reminds me of the rag rugs my grandma always used to have that seemed to be made out of old bits of polyester! I may do some more as summer progresses and hold a give away! |
Finally I thought I'd give you a little peek behind the scenes! Below is the little notebook I use to keep track of the rows on my projects. It has taken me quite awhile to get through even a few pages, so it should last me for some time! This picture tickles me because it sort of looks like something a crazy person would do. It looks like something they'd find in an old abandoned asylum in a horror movie and abandoned asylum movies are my favorite! (Have you guys seen Session 9? If you haven't you should!). Its kind of funny that something that looks so crazy is actually what is keeping me sane!
