Good morning! As you can see above I'm having a little sale! I have a wedding to go to on V-day weekend and am unable to participate in any "in person" sales so I thought maybe I'd drum up a little online business with a coupon code! Use the code above to get 25% off ANYTHING in my Etsy store! Go over and treat yourself or your sweetie to something warm and cozy!
In other news, I really wanted to show you a new Twinkie Chan project today, its sooooo close to done, but I couldn't quite make it. I've had a bunch of overtime at work, which, in addition to eating up a lot of my time, has actually lead to what seems to be a "repetitive motion injury." My elbow and forearm have been engulfed in stabbing and excruciating pain! I'm taking some time off from hooking since I can't take time off from working. I also got myself one of these fancy "tennis elbow" arm braces to see if that helps! Fingers crossed! |
In the meantime, I have not been sitting idly! I've been working away on production schedules, color palettes and packaging for winter 2016! As I was tooling around the internet looking at crochet, like I do, I found this super cute packaging being used for boot cuffs! I don't get into boot cuffs myself but I thought it might be neat to use it for my fingerless gloves, which I call Tech Mitts. I scrubbed off the print that was on them and put on my logo and my info, and then put this little test run together! I'm imagining a bunch of these on a tiered stand with my mannequin arm modeling a pair so people know what they are! I'll print these on craft paper so that they go with the rest of my tagging. Its kind of silly, but I think it looks really cute and might be eye catching on a craft fair table!
For color palettes I decided that this winter I'll do sort of 2 lines, they'll only really be separate lines in my head but there may be places that only see one set of items and not the other. I used to work at a men's apparel design company and we would always lay out color palettes for each season, it seems like a smart way to organize your thoughts and make sure your items look cohesive. For me personally I'm hoping it will keep me from being distracted by all the new and funky yarns out there so that my displays don't look like a yard sale! Here's a sneak peak! Additionally there will be black, grey, white, and cream which will technically be the crossover points of the lines.
In the interest of having something a little more productive to show you, the hubs and I have been doing some work getting a bit more of the house decorated. We both worked a million years in the rock and roll industry and we have a mountain of really nice show posters between us. We also have a lot of talented friends and local artists around and we love to include their stuff as well. Everything is oddly shaped and its been difficult and expensive to find frames, but we're getting there! Here is what we've put up in our dining room. Our walls already have those cool built in plaster frame details so those are nice!
We had enough frames to get somethings up outside of the dining room as well. I really love this pickle jar print and have relocated it from the breakfast nook to the kitchen, I think it looks perfect with my wacky timer collection! It would seem that I'm making a horror wall in our stairwell...so that's exciting! I'm already creeping Rob out with talks of putting my Satan's Jeweled Crown print in the basement stairwell...can't wait!
Its not much but its getting there! I'm slowly becoming a design on a budget maven!
