Holy hot sauce! It's creeping up near the triple digits around here...are you guys ready for fall or what?? I'll be honest, I'm not. I love fall actually, but fall means winter is near and I hate being cold. I'll take the scorching heat and high humidity of a Kansas summer over the brutal windchill of winter any day. That said...100 degrees is a bit excessive.
Anywho, lets think about fall and winter, and lets think about hats! I've always struggled with hats. It seems like when I find a pattern I like it takes too long to make, is too fussy, or stretches out too easily when worn. Last year I was making a cable stitch hat that I quite liked, but it wasn't really my pattern. I had also gotten a few requests for slouchy hats, which I know are quite popular right now. I didn't want to make and carry a ton of different hats, so I tinkered a bit and came up with a hat that can really be worn as either a regular, I call it old school, stocking cap with a folded up brim, or you can fold down the brim and wear it slouchy!
