Hello!! September has arrived, so it basically fall now...that means people will start to like crochet again! Yarn is just a hard sell in summer, which I totally get, but as the weather turns people finally start thinking about the needle arts again. Not me of course, I think about crochet all the time.
This week has had a little bit of excitement and a little bit of "too little too late" thinking. First, I had someone approach me via Etsy about doing a craft fair in Emporia, KS. This was very exciting, I've never had anyone bring a craft fair opportunity to me before! Its good to know that my Etsy is working. It feels like a constant uphill climb to get better at the photography and presentation of my things. That's all part of why I do any of this, I like the learning process of it and the marketing aspect, so someone noticing it feels like a real win! I will give you more details once the show is confirmed!
In "too little too late news" as it usually goes this time of year I have begun thinking hot and heavy about Halloween, and in the case of making things that people might want to buy for the occasion this is a bit late in the game. I have approximately 10,000 "creepy crochet" books (ok, 4) and countless patterns for skulls, ghosts, and monsters that I keep meaning to make and I just haven't done it. In my inbox this very morning I found a digital booklet of Halloween patterns and thought "I really ought to make this stuff, everyone I know loves creepy things! Perhaps I can throw together a few small ghouls before October hits...
But this is not what you came here for...you came to see what I've been working on this week! I've been trucking away on that pile of neons I showed you last week! Take a sneak peek!

I'm hoping to get these finished up and in the store over the weekend! I'll also be hoping to finish a super fly jumpsuit that I'm making myself (sewing not crochet, a crochet jumpsuit might be a bit much). I hit a frustrating sizing issue and tossed it across the room. I'm about ready to kiss and make up with it though...I'll need it before vacation next week I think!
