Its 2016! You probably knew that already... I'm not one for resolutions, but I am planning to try to be more organized this year (as I try every year, even a crawl is moving forward!) and I'm going to try to get my "small business" all legit and stuff with like a tax number and what not. I figure I can only out run the man for so long as far as tax on my meager sales is concerned!
I'm also planning a great stuff purge and a garage sale! I love going to garage sales but I hate hosting them, sitting in my yard while people rifle through my things is very unsettling to me! I have so much I want to get rid of I figure I had better try to make a few bucks off of it!
The holidays, for me, were a nice break from most things. Work is so slow I don't really have to take days off to feel rested, my family doesn't have a big doin's or anything, and I can just sort of chill out and watch a bunch of Hobbit movies and such. That's pretty much what I did! I also finished up my last commissions of 2015 and moved on to some experiments and some things for myself!
Check out this adorable cat hat!! So cute, and so easy to make! This was the first one I finished and it was ripped from my hands the minute it came off my hook by my husband who loved it so much he proceeded to go to bed with it on that night. I guess its a good "unisex" item! I'll get a few of these knocked out and up in the Etsy shop soon!

I also got very inspired by the Jumbo Triple Luxe Cowl pattern from All About Ami and I happened to have some of the yarn she used on hand that I had been trying to find a use for for months! I found this super gigantic hook at Michael's and I've been tinkering around the house with it for a couple of weeks! It works up a cowl super fast and I feel like a tiny gnome with a human size crochet hook when I use it! (I have an overactive imagination)
I have some fun projects lined up for my own amusement for the rest of this winter, as well as some things to get ahead for the 2016 Holiday season (oh man!). I plan to do a "Hook The Book," which is something I totally made up, and I'll show you the first finished project from that next week! I also plan to take a fresh look at my Christmas stockings (human and pet..See them here!) to see how quickly I can make them and what to charge and I'll have those up in the shop for custom order soon. I had a lot of requests this past Christmas and thought they might be a good thing to get ahead of sooner rather than later! I'll let you know how those shake out hopefully before the month is over!
I really thought I would take a bit of a break and do some other things for awhile but I already have 2 lists of projects going so that looks unlikely!
