Boy have I ever been a blog slacker!! I wish I could say it has been a productive month and some change, but in truth it hasn't really. Mostly the Kansas City Royals were in the World Series and that never happens and I've not known how to conduct myself with it going on!
So lots of things that I promised you haven't happened yet. Number one amongst those is getting stuff up for sale on Etsy. I had the best intentions, I set up a make shift photo studio, I took a bunch of shots of everything...and they were all terrible! I've been embarrassed to put them up! I'm working on getting a little photography light box set up to try to correct that. I may go ahead and put up the items with the sub-par pictures anyway just to get the ball rolling and keep my shop from sitting empty. If anyone out there is a photographer who wants to trade photos for crocheted goods, you just let me know!
The craft shows were fun, but the sales weren't quite what we were hoping, and that's ok. I now have tons of stock, which is a good feeling! I also managed to drum up some commissioned pieces. Top of that list are these great slippers!

I had never made slippers before so these were a fun little project for me to figure out. They are modified from a pattern I found, the recipient wanted something boot like, so it was pretty easy to extend a shoe height up a bit! The tricky part was that the pattern was just for one size so modifying got a bit "math-y"...and they say you don't use it after high school! After posting this picture I've had several more requests for slippers...so that's pretty darn cool and you'll likely be seeing these in the store as well!
And one more thing...here's a little hounds-tooth scarf I've been working on as a gift to myself (the picture might be a little too close up to show the pattern):
