Ahhhh, another Things I Did Thursday!! This week involved very little work of my own actually. I even began to get some rather intense anxiety which I'm at least partially attributing to the fact that I didn't touch yarn for so many days in a row! I was at the end of my color coordinated yarn pile that I had gotten to match the colors I'd
picked out for the upcoming fall/winter. A coordinated theme, what a good idea right? ....Well...then I woke up Tuesday morning and said "Why don't I make all the same stuff I've been working on but in NEONS!!!!!!!" I love neons maybe more than your average person. If you can be a "fall" or a "winter" as far as what colors look best on and most appeal to you then I'm a "neon." The only thing to do was rush right out and buy a whole boat load of neon yarn to work up and to appease my inner late 80s pre-teen (do you think I could splatter paint it also? I'm down to try)! Boy neon never photos as bright as you want it to does it? I told myself I wouldn't get any variegated yarn because "its silly and you're the only one who likes it" but, as you can see, I did it anyway. It was also, of freaking course, the first one I had to use! Does my love of crazy color show?? I mean, variegated neon yarn makes me giddy...is that a sign of some sort of mental illness? I thought I'd temper it just a bit by keeping the brights with white and black. I may toss in some grey or neutral as well as I go along. Here is the first off the line!
Hey! At least I'll have some stuff that appeals to children right?? Surely there are other adults out there who, like me, just need to have bright colors against their skin at all times right?
In the interest of using up all my scrap ends of yarn I also made some pom poms with the remnants from the first batch of colors. No good idea of what I'll do with them yet. If I can keep them from becoming cat toys I'll be ahead of the game! Pro Tip: if you're looking to relieve stress and anxiety making yarn pom poms while watching What We Do In The Shadows is a very good way to do it!
