Woo hoo! First craft show of the season under my belt! Friends of Shawnee Town Arts and Craft fair went really well. I had set out a couple of 50% off buckets and those were a real hit! Ultimately its not my favorite way to make money since its really losing money, but it got a lot of stuff out of my way and made room for newer, better things!
That's what the set up looked like. Debra and Erika (my disembodied heads) made it out to their first craft fair and I think they had a good time! They certainly were a hit with the crowd! I also got those new grates to hang things on! They are actually closet shelves from Lowe's and my hubs built me some fancy wooden feet to go on them! You can also kind of see my bunting showing everyone how fun we are!
I noticed a few trends in what people seemed to want. A few people asked for hats and beanies...I'm working on it, I'm not quite there yet with a pattern I like to make and can get to turn out right on a regular basis. Also people were gravitating toward the earwarmers with the flowers on them. I kind of thought those were over, but I see that I was wrong! I only had a couple of those left having moved mostly to the houndstooth pattern so I've been frantically working up a few more!
This stack is just waiting on buttons and finishes! Also due to a tragic mimosa accident at the craft fair I had to get a new phone...today I learned a quirk of my new phone is sending photos as read only that I can't edit...they may be worse than usual until I can get that figured out! For the record I was not drunk, I was distracted by an old lady who was casually swiping a coozie (accidentally? maybe?) and the phone fell off something into the beverage! |
Finally the next craft show is October 3rd in Emporia at the Clint Bowyer center on the fair grounds! This will be my first time flying solo without my craft fair buddy, so if you're in the area please come say hi!
