This week I did my first craft fair in a church! It went pretty well and I'm fairly sure I didn't offend anybody, so it was a win! I made enough money to feel comfortable stopping at the craft store for more yarn afterward. I'm nervous about the super big one I have in Salina in a couple of weeks and I want to make sure I have enough of the colors people seem to like best! Despite a long day and a party to get to that night, I found the urge to make some Christmas decorations real quick:
This project is another co-pro with my super awesome husband! The man has a very deep love for cold coffee. Iced, cold brew, left over from what was warm yesterday...he loves it! But he really loves this cold brew from Alchemy Coffee out of Lawrence, KS. As he consumes these I keep making him save the bottles because I think they are so beautiful! (this one is actually mine but I'm so caffeine sensitive that I have to find just the right day to drink it) |
As the bottles were collecting around the house I was planning to use them for some fake flowers (our cat won't let real flowers stay upright in the house) or something. Then at the craft store the other day I had a moment of inspiration when I saw that the holiday decorations were 50% off! I mentally slapped my own hand every time I picked up something glittery that would ultimately shed sparkle all over my house, car, clothes, life, and opted for these "nature" inspired bunches!
I was overwhelmingly proud of how these turned out considering how little effort I put into them! I wondered how I would transport them (not sure where I think I'm taking them yet) and then remembered that my husband had built some super cool wooden 6 pack holders that would be just perfect! When I loaded the bottles into the carrier I almost passed out it was so freaking cute! It looked like a decoration you'd see in a magazine and think to yourself "oh who has the time or the touch to pull that off?!"
Please disregard my command hook hanging out killing time between Halloween decorations and Christmas garland! Also don't mind Herbert, he gives everyone the evil eye, it isn't personal. My husband is eager to have a reason to empty more of these bottles for me, and that could fuel his fire to make more 6-pack holders!
